I’m sure I”m not the only parent that has had a day where they really don’t like one, or all of, their children. Today is a day when I’m thinking of how beautiful Tuscany would be while renting a beautiful antique farm house in a small villa. Instead, I’m trying to keep my eyes open long enough to change a diaper, feed them all breakfast and somehow do it without falling down the stairs again.
David was last night.
A lot.
Screaming.
Who said motherhood was joyful? I think it’s sparkled with joy. It has joy sprinkled on top sometimes but after a couple spoonfuls it’s still just melted ice cream with mashed up bananas and sprinkles to hide the mushy nuts.
It’s days like today that have me wondering if homeschooling is the right idea. Any why am I so against daycare for my youngest. I bet there’s someone out there who’s giddy at the idea of spending all day listening to my two year ask to “talk Gamma” and watch him pushing the vacuum all over the floor and bang on pots and pans pretending to cook.
It sounds all cute and it would be even cuter if someone else was doing it and all I had to do was sign the checks.
Give me a few hours and I’ll have everything together, have David down for a nap and I’ll be sleeping. Then I’ll wake up all bright eyed, bushy tailed and happy but for right now, pass me the sugar bowl cause I’m diving in!
