My baby sister has reminded me that I have responsibilities to other people besides the little children acting out the Battle of the Bulge in the playroom. I can’t quite tell who is playing the different countries but there’s a lot of yelling and calling for “Medic!”
I have been so focused one getting productive that I’ve gotten pretty unproductive on this blog so my sister has given me a deadline, something I love. I have one hour to get as many posts published as possible. I considered posting one word at a time but I think that would be maddening to read so instead I’m opting for a bullet list.
Here’s what I’ve been up to;
1. I’m trying to get to a fitness class 3 days a week. It’s not always possible but I am really wanting to get Phat as opposed to Fat.
2. I’m knitting (Don’t roll your eyes at me! Knitting can be cool. Really.) I’m knitting a scarf for my baby brother who is on his mission to Denver Colorado. I figure if it’s getting cold here then it’s getting cold in Colorado. Jason and Jocelyn have gotten interested in knitting so I’ve shown them how to knit with needles. They made finger knitted scarves all winter last year but this year they want to make what Mom is making.
3. I’m going to a French class Thursday nights. I have given up on trying to learn French on my own with books. I need to hear it and have someone correct me. Anyone who knows my husband might suggest that I learn French from him. To that I would say that I love my husband and I want to continue to love him. His French is amazing but personally I believe that it’s best to learn something new from someone you don’t share a bed with.
4. I’ve been asked to speak at a Women’s Summit called From Stress to Success. They want me to speak on homeschooling. How we got started, why we chose to homeschool and how it’s impacted our family and suggestions for parents thinking about homeschooling. I’m excited and terrified all at the same time. Mostly terrified, though. This can possibly be the largest venue I’ve spoken at so far. Thank goodness it’s a recorded interview so I get to do it in my pajamas!
5. Jason and Jocelyn have started scouts last week and we are rapidly getting into some crazy times. I love having my kids involved with outside activities like gymnastics, hip hop dance, art classes, music lessons and stuff but I hate leaving my home on someone else’s schedule. I like to get moving at my own pace.
6. I have to write a blog review on some sweet smelly stuff I was sent a couple days ago.
I have some pictures to put up but I’ll do that in a later post when I have time to upload, tag and label all the pictures. For now I am going to make dinner, get my kids organized, take Jason to Scouts, drop some books off at the library, get the little ones into bed and try to work more on my brother’s scarf.
I need to get a ton done but now that I’m on the computer I think I might fart around on Youtube.
Now I know why I was staying off the computer.
It’s about stinkin’ time. I was getting tired of seeing those pictures of ghost lake. And by the way, I’m still waiting to hear why it’s even called that gruesome name!
Well, I love you and am excited to have more posts going! Especially since my phone calls to Canada are now limited. LAME…… S U P E R LAME
Wuhoo…that’s a hefty list…inspirational too.
By the way…for any laughers/scoffers out there, just tell them…Knitting is the new yoga!
