The weather lately has been hovering around Are-You-Freaking-Kidding-Me for the last couple weeks and on and off since December. It is now mid-March and the freeze is finally lifting. Atleast for the weekend. With the less-than freezing temperatures comes some of my favorite things.
1. I’m smiling.
2. My children are smiling.
3. I’m wearing no socks while in my house.
4. I’m wanting to make cookies for the enjoyment of cooking instead of attempting to use the oven to warm the house.
5. My kids are playing with their imaginations and have an air of excitement around them.
6. I’m smiling.
7. I’m feeling relaxed and looking forward to the weekend without the weight of needing to be creative with what I can do with a family of six people stuck in a house for two days.
8. I am sending my kids to play outside.
9. I am not stressing about the mud and dirt and wetness that will be tracked through my house afterward.
10. I’m thinking of yummy recipes that require grilling meat and vegetables.
11. I’m thinking ahead to Spring with wonder and anticipation.
12. I’m making plans for my backyard
13. I’m happy
In honor of looking forward I am posting some pictures of what was happening around this time last year.
These are pictures of the kids from last year and a picture from this year.

“I’m wearing no socks while in my house.”
Me neither. And I so love that.
(Only downfall is that now I have to face what the winter did to my heels…)
