Don’t put plastic in the dryer

This past week has been fantastic and wild. The kids and I have been having so much fun that we started to let the chores slide and pretty soon there were smells wafting out of corners of my house that weren’t pleasant. Yesterday I decided to take advantage of a day off from school and I cleaned my house ALL DAY! That’s no understatement either. I cleaned from 8:30 until midnight. I wish it hadn’t taken so long but once I started, I wanted everything done. I organized closets, rearranged different parts of the house and took a toothbrush, no exaggeration, to my bathrooms. I even threw all the bathtoys into the dishwasher and the shower curtains into the washing machine.

This is where things went bad.

If you have one of those plastic curtain protectors for your shower please remember that it is plastic and will melt in the dryer. Learn from my mistakes.

Thankfully the plastic hardened against the back end of the drum and I was able to painstakingly strip the hardened plastic off in strips. It was time consuming but that’s what happens when you get task focused and forget to use your brains when throwing things into the dryer.

Lesson learned…I hope.

    uh oh! That stinks, literally.
we extremists must clean like that occasionally. I don’t know why, it’s kinda like the cat dashing about through the house like he’s being pursued by a coyote. Kinda like that…
