Is drunk contagious?

Can I get loopy and stupid from hanging out with my Wine Sisters? That’s what I call my neighbor moms. We sit around, talking about our husbands, our kids and our jobs while we eat junk food and drink wine. I’m not an alcohol drinker so I sip my ice water and watch the show. Drunk people are fun. My Wine Sisters are a lot of fun without the booze but if you throw a bottle or three of wine into the mix we get to have a great time!

We talked about sex. We complained about our children. We shared heart breaking stories about losing someone and we traded dresses. Isn’t that what everyone does on a Tuesday evening?

Tammy called on Tuesday to tell me about a girls night going on Wednesday night to replace my postponed birthday party. I can’t believe all the fun we had for a last minute thing. Some of my greatest friends were there, although we missed Alyson, and the conversations kept getting more and more fun. By the end of the night I’m sure the hostess started sitting people as far away from us as possible. Tammy and Mary really brought the party to the restaurant. They had balloons, party hats, birthday jewelry and a cake!

You guys were so sweet and wonderful. Thank you so much. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

My name is Jen so I have to describe women in a word starting with ‘O’ which is easy, OUTSTANDING.

I have to say that I love being a woman. I don’t know if any man has as much fun being a man as I have being a woman. We’re amazing, wouldn’t you say?

My kids have been watching Cinderella lately and it’s reminded me of how much I wanted a Fairy Godmother to show up in my bedroom as a teenager and turn me into the princess. I wanted to be more beautiful, more greaceful, better clothed and more than anything I wanted the prince.

I feel like that princess now but I never got a Fairy Godmother. Instead I got trial and error, falling on my face and some experiences that forced me to get back up and keep moving. In the time after the falling down and after the scrapes and bruises healed I became that princess not in spite of them but because of them. There is a Fairy Godmother and I think she whispers encouragement while we sleep and sends dreams of being better than ourselves and those dreams become our strength and that strength becomes the motivation to keep trying and in the trying we become the Princess with everything we had wanted in the first place.

One of the statuettes on my mantle has a saying,
